Visionary Fusion: Empowering Robot Sight with Model-driven Multi-band Enhancement
Abstract: Single image enhancement is crucial for improving visual quality in applications like robot vision. This study proposes a novel topic-model assisted multi-band image fusion method to enhance a single input image while preserving semantic information. The key innovation is using topic models for adaptive band fusion based on image content. Comparative experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that the proposed technique outperforms state-of-the-art methods in quantitative and qualitative evaluation. This study …

Artificial Neural Network-Based Multifocus Image Fusion
Abstract: Fusion of multiple images is needed for combining information contained in images obtained using different imaging devices or different camera settings. Due to the physics of optical lenses present in these devices, it is difficult to capture an image that has all the relevant objects well in focus. Thus, artificial neural network (ANN)-based multifocus image fusion method in YCbCr color space is proposed. Input images are first mapped from RGB …

A Multimodal Image Fusion based on NonSubsampled Contourlet Transform and Sparse Representation
Abstract: Detection of tumors in the brain is vital in diagnosis of brain cancer. Doctors suggest numerous scans like CT, MRI, PET, and SPECT for estimating the type of cancer, size and location of the tumor and the aging or spread of cancer. A single imaging technique is not sufficient for correct diagnosis of the disease. In case the scans are ambiguous, it can lead doctors to incorrect diagnosis, which can …
