Abstract: Hereditary spherocytosis (HS) is an inherited blood disorder that disrupts the shape and flexibility of red blood cells (RBCs) due to genetic mutations. These abnormal, sphere-shaped RBCs, called spherocytes, are prematurely destroyed in the spleen, leading to hemolytic anemia.
