Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Children: An Overview
Abstract: Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) means when the body makes too many immature blood cells. These cells, called myeloid blasts, can't mature into normal white blood cells. In India, Cancer is the leading cause of mortality among children aged 5 to 14, with roughly 45,000 youngsters diagnosed each year. About 20% of children with leukaemia have this type of cancer.
