Abstract

Boring is the process to enlarge the diameter of hole or employed for finishing operation in machine shop. It is a process in which drilled hole, casting hole, forged hole diameter are increased by cutting device known as boring tool. Boring operation is generally conducted to enlarge the hole’s diameter. Spindle speed, cutting speed, feed rate and torque are very important parameters to be considered while designing the boring tool. The effects of spindle speed on boring tool are calculated for designing multiple step boring tool. The values of cutting speed, material removal rate (MRR) are also calculated for different spindle speed. For different parameters the cutting force and torque are calculated and from these values for particular value of spindle speed and feed rate the mathematical and FEA analysis are done.
