Due to the increase in awareness of energy efficiency in the industry, discussions have been made for the use of machine tools that are more energy efficient. They generally consist of various motors and auxiliary components whose energy usage can vary strongly during machining. There is a very close interrelation between the components and subcomponents of a machine tool and also the aspects of productivity and quality. A detailed study of manufacturing processes and the power consumption of individual components, possibility for savings can be calculated and measures can be defined for the efficient use of energy.
