Advanced Control Techniques: Super-twisting Controller Applications and Insights
Abstract: Sliding mode control (SMC) provides robust control for uncertain systems. This study focuses on the Super-Twisting Controller (STC), a powerful SMC technique known for its finite-time convergence and robustness. Its importance is to provide chatter-free control and robustness against uncertainty, and make it suitable for systems with nonlinear dynamics and disturbances. The advantages of STC are faster speed, more accurate control actions, and enhanced system stability, though may require careful …

Super-twisting Algorithm Based Sliding Mode Controlled Boost Converter
Abstract: This work provides analysis of boost converter with super-twisting algorithm under sliding mode operating in continuous conduction mode. The super-twisting algorithm reduces the chattering effect which is inherent in conventional sliding mode control. Generally, chattering increases heat losses, thereby decreasing the performance of the boost converter. The aforementioned control strategy minimizes the initial current peak and provides highly improved output voltage regulation irrespective of the input voltage perturbation and load …

Twisting, Super Twisting and Adaptive Algorithm Sliding Mode Controller for Second Order Time Delay Systems
Abstract: The sliding mode control approach is widely considered as one of the most effective methods for designing a reliable controller for a complicated higher-order dynamic plant operating under uncertainty. The primary advantages of sliding mode is its low sensitivity to changes in plant parameters and the ability to entirely eliminate disruptions. Sliding mode control has been widely applied as a robust control design methodology that is completely insensitive to uncertainties, …
