A Review on joining super austenitic stainless steel AISI 904L
Abstract: Super austenitic stainless steel AISI 904L is the commended material for high corrosion resistance and strength requirements. Super austenitic stainless steels are widely employed in applications like aerospace, automotive, marine, industrial applications. The process of joining of super austenitic stainless steel can be done with several conventional arc welding processes, but micro plasma arc welding which promotes high heat inputs and low dilution of the welds which makes joining of …

Some Creep-Rupture Data Analytics as Applied to AISI 310S Superalloy Austenitic Stainless Steel Sheets at Elevated Temperatures and High Applied Stresses
Abstract: Creep-rupture of AISI 301S stainless steel is analyzed at 973-1073K and 40-150MPa. Various creep curves and creep rate curves are compared to understand the effect of temperature and applied load. Creep deformation and creep fracture mechanisms are manipulated from concerned mechanism maps. Creep deformation follows high temperature climb. Creep activation energy so obtained is 345KJ/mol. It is larger than activation energy for self-diffusion in pure FCC iron (that is 270-311kJ/mol). …

Advanced Quantitative Analysis of Dynamic Recovery during Warm Working of FCC Alloys
Abstract: Metal working processes of warm working require an advanced quantitative analysis of dynamic and static recovery of dislocations to control microstructures and crucial shape forming properties. Feasibility of dynamic recovery by thermal glide and static recovery by climb of constricted jogs, applicable to ausforming, nano bulk forming by SPD and normalizing has been addressed to design new steels, used for hulls, and tribologically superior bearings. Predictive dislocation recovery analysis shows …

Corrosion Behavior of Ferritic Steel, Austenitic Steel and Low Carbon Steel Grades in Sugarcane Juice
Abstract: The objective of the present study is to evaluate the corrosion behavior of ferritic grade AISI 444 and to compare its performance with the austenitic grade AISI 304 and low carbon steel AISI 1010 in the corrosive medium of raw sugarcane juice. General corrosion and pitting corrosion behavior of AISI 444, AISI 304 and AISI 1010 steels in sugarcane juice was investigated using traditional weight loss method and cyclic polarization …
