Study of Calcium Oxide Nanoparticles Synthesized by Solvothermal Method
Abstract: Calcium oxide (CaO) nanoparticles have been synthesized by simple solvothermal method using a domestic microwave oven. The reaction of calcium acetate with urea in ethylene glycol and by adding different mole% of manganese acetate as dopant was studied. The structural and optical properties of the proposed nanoparticles were investigated. The structural properties were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The average particle size of …

On the Electrical Conductivity of ZnO Nanocrystals Synthesized by Solvothermal Method
Abstract: ZnO nanocrystals were synthesized using microwave oven technique. The electrical properties of ZnO were studied using impedance spectroscopy. In this work, measurements on the AC and DC conductivities of the pelletized ZnO samples were carried out. The frequency dependence of both AC conductivity and the dielectric constant of nanocrystals of ZnO were investigated in the frequency range 1 Hz–1 MHz. Electrical characterizations using impedance spectroscopy were carried out for pelletized …

Conversion of PET waste bottles into a useful catalyst
Abstract: Metal-organic frameworks (MOF) are composed of metal ions and organic linkers and have many application fields. Most of MOFs are synthesized by solvothermal method and in this method we mainly use DMF solvent. This paper proposed the synthesis method of MOF UiO-66 which is more eco-friendly than conventional method using harmful DMF solvent. In this method we use the PET waste bottles, which causes a lot of environmental problems in all …

Heteroatom modified carbon dots (N, P, K): synthesis, surface functionalization, and prospects for soil‑fertility enhancement
Abstract: Heteroatom‑functionalized carbon dots (H‑CDs) have emerged as a class of zero‑dimensional carbon nanomaterials offering tunable optical, electronic, and catalytic properties through controlled nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium doping. This review highlights the chemistry and chemical‑technology dimensions of N‑, P‑, and K‑doped carbon dots (N‑CDs, P‑CDs, K‑CDs), focusing on their synthesis strategies, surface functionalization, and structure–property relationships. Conventional routes such as microwave‑assisted pyrolysis, hydrothermal carbonization, and one‑pot solvothermal methods are discussed, with …

Recent Advances in Crystal Defect Engineering of Semiconductor Photocatalysts for Sustainable Environmental and Energy Applications
Abstract: Semiconductor photocatalysis has emerged as one of the most promising green technologies for addressing environmental pollution and global energy challenges through solar energy utilization. Nevertheless, the practical application of conventional semiconductor photocatalysts is often limited by their narrow visible-light absorption, rapid recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs, insufficient active sites, and poor charge-transfer efficiency. Defect engineering has recently attracted significant attention as an effective strategy to overcome these limitations by deliberately …
