Seasonal Variation of Electric Vehicles Autonomy: Application to AC/DC Dual Voltage Operation
Abstract: In this work, a study to predict battery performance and autonomy for a dual type of electric engine, 480 VAC and 360 VDC, has been developed. The study has been conducted in vehicles of mass between 1000 and 3000 kg with battery capacity in the range of 40 to 100 kWh. The process has been simulated using reference values and modeled for specific driving conditions. The simulation has been developed …

Simulation of The Performance of Li-Ion Batteries for Electric Vehicles
Abstract: In this work, a simulation process, focused to study the performance of Li-ion batteries under variable driving conditions has been developed. The simulation has been tested for a battery of 100 kWh, 400 V and 250 Ah, in an electric vehicle operating in pure electric mode (EV). The results have been compared to the European standard NEDC and WLTP cycles, producing a range of 196 km for the NEDC cycle …

BATTERY/SUPERCAPACITOR HYBRID SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Abstract: The paper is focused to the design and development of a new hybrid system to power electric vehicles. The system is made up of a conventional lithium battery that is used to propel the vehicle when there is no acceleration or the acceleration and power demand are low or moderate, and a supercapacitor that powers the electric vehicle at high power demand periods or when the acceleration is relevant. The …

Design of a control system for determining the autonomy of electric vehicles (EVs)
Abstract: The main goal of this project is the development of an advanced system for controlling the performance of lithium batteries that equip electric vehicles by improving previous design of the control system so the real driving range of an Electric Vehicle (EV) can be determined within the highest accuracy, considering the driving conditions, driving attitude of car drivers and external influences.
