Optimizing Lean Manufacturing Through Kanban: Enhancing Efficiency and Safety in Industrial Operations
Abstract: Lean manufacturing aims to maximize productivity while minimizing waste, and one of the most effective techniques to achieve this is the Kanban system. Derived from the Japanese term meaning "signboard," Kanban provides a structured approach to inventory control and production scheduling by specifying what, when, and how to produce based on real-time demand. When properly implemented, the Kanban system enhances efficiency, reduces excess inventory, and improves workflow coordination, leading to …

Evolution of Lean Manufacturing in Mechanical Industries: From Traditional Tools to Digital Transformation
Abstract: Lean manufacturing has long been a foundational strategy for enhancing productivity, reducing operational waste, and improving overall efficiency in mechanical industries. Initially developed as part of the Toyota Production System, lean principles focused on eliminating non-value-adding activities and streamlining processes using a set of well-established tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, and value-stream mapping. Over the decades, these principles have been adopted and refined globally, particularly within the mechanical sector, …
