Host Plant Affinity and Trophic Behavior of Lohita grandis name of author (Hemiptera: Largidae)
Abstract: Lohita grandis (Gray) , commonly known as the red cotton bug, is an emerging pest of cotton and several other economically important crops in India. Its sap-sucking feeding habit causes discoloration of fruits, reduction in seed quality, and yield losses, posing serious challenges to sustainable agriculture. The present study investigates the feeding behaviour and host plant preferences of L. grandis across diverse agroclimatic zones of India, with the aim of …

Havoc of Papaya Mealybug (Paracoccus marginatus) and Its Management Strategies
Abstract: The papaya mealybug (Paracoccus marginatus) is a serious problem that affects mulberries, citrus, and papaya among other agricultural and horticultural crops. Originating in Central America, it has spread around the world and caused extensive harm because of its capacity to consume plant sap, which results in reduced crop yields, fruit drop, and chlorosis. In addition, the insect releases honeydew, which encourages the development of sooty mold, further impeding photosynthesis and …

Silkworm Growth and Silk Yield under Changing Climatic Conditions: Challenges and Adaptations
Abstract: Climate change is emerging as a critical factor affecting agriculture and sericulture industries worldwide. Rising global temperatures, shifting rainfall patterns, and the growing frequency of extreme weather events present ever challenges to the growth and productivity of silkworms (Bombyx mori L.). Silkworms are extremely sensitive to environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, and photoperiod, all altered by climate change. Higher temperatures can accelerate silkworm metabolism, reduce silk yield, and increase susceptibility …
