First record of isolation of hemolymph and identification of hemocytes in a Cyclopoid Copepod
Abstract: Based on the literature review done it has been noted that it is the first report of observation and identification of hemocytes from Cyclopoid Copepod. The hemolymph sample was taken by a preliminary standard method and hemocytes were isolated and identified under light microcopy using eosin stain. The hemocytes observed were clarified based on the presence or absence and relative size of cytoplasmic granules. Three types of hemocytes were observed …

Extra Philadelphia in CML Due to Isodicentric 22: A Case Report
Abstract: Introduction: Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia is a malignancy that affects the hematopoietic stems cells (HSC) of the bone marrow, leading to the rapid and continual proliferation of granulocytes and precursor blast cells. This is caused due to a reciprocal translocation that occurs between chromosomes 9 and 22, leading to the formation of derivative 22 also called as Philadelphia (Ph) chromosome. The Ph chromosome then encodes a fusion oncoprotein that functions as …

Hematopoietic Stem Cells: Sources and Therapeutic Potential for Autoimmune Diseases and Cancer
Abstract: Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are a group of multipotent adult stem cells that are responsible for lifelong production of all types of functional blood cells comprising myeloid (monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes), megakaryocytes/platelets, red blood cells (erythrocyte), T-cells, B-cells, natural killer (NK) cells, mast cells and dendritic cells (DCs). HSCs have the capacity for self-renewal and differentiation into various tissues. These remarkable properties of HSCs make them an ideal tool for tissue …
