Evaluation of Mixed Heterotrophic Microbial Consortium Obtained from Indian Cow Dung for Biological Hydrogen Production
Abstract: The mixed heterotrophic microbial consortium isolated from Indian cow dung was investigated for the effect of pH ranging between 5.0 and 8.0 on its fermentative hydrogen-producing ability, end-metabolite and glucose-conversion efficiency. 1% w/v glucose was supplemented as carbon source. Results showed that mixed microbial consortium exhibited maximum hydrogen production and percentage glucose conversion efficiency at pH 7.5. From the investigation of total VFA content on HPLC, acetate was reported as …

Nanoyeast Supported on Silica Gel for The Continuous Flow Bioethanol Production
Abstract: Nanomaterials outperform their bulk counterparts. Yet, production of nanomaterials, especially, nanoyeast is a challenge and is an upcoming field. Yeast is a fungal strain that consumes carbohydrates (glucose, sucrose, molasses and the like) and produces bioethanol, a potential transportation fuel. Impregnation methods are well known in catalysis to yield nanomaterials via better dispersion. An attempt has been made to modulate the size of yeast to increase the efficiency of carbohydrate …

Recent research trends in Bioethanol production – An Indian context
Abstract: Biofuels production is indeed a research hotspot. Prevention is better than cure. A paradigm shift from fossil based to bio-based fuels gives health, wealth and happiness. Among various biofuels, after biodiesel, bioethanol is next to and close to commercialization. The use of bioethanol is countries like Brazil and US is a success story. In India there is significant progress taking place in the transportation sector to use bioethanol as fuel …

Gluconic Acid: Properties, Microbial Production and Applications in Food and Agriculture: Critical Review
Abstract: Gluconic acid is one of the most essential natural acids and is moderately obtained from glucose by unpretentious oxidation response process. The response is simplified through glucose dehydrogenase bacteria such as (Gluconobacter) and enzyme glucose oxidase (fungi). The production of gluconic acid by microbes is the desired procedure. The typical broadly applied fermentation technique is summarized by using fungi (Aspergillus niger). Derivatives for gluconic acid; the main ones like sodium …
