Design and CFD Analysis with Experimental Testing of Exhaust Manifold
Abstract: The exhaust manifold undergoes back pressure problems. If the design of the manifold consists of sharp edges or bends which will tend to create turbulence and increase in pressure. Due to increase in turbulence it can cause an increase in back pressure. As the back pressure increases it tends to improper scavenging of the exhaust gases. So the improper scavenging of the gases leads to improper burning of fuel which …

AUTOMOTIVE VALVE-TRAIN COMPONENTS DURABILITY ANALYSIS USING FINITE ELEMENT METHOD APPROACH: A REVIEW
Abstract: An internal combustion (IC) engine valves is poppet valves used to control the flow of air /fuel mixture in the engine and escape of exhaust combustible gases from the engine using intake and exhaust valves respectively. Inside an engine the combustion process majorly depends on timing of Air/Fuel mixture induction and release of gases. Both Intake and Exhaust valve also form a seal between the working space inside the cylinder …

Weldability of Ferritic Stainless Steel
Abstract: The ferritic stainless steels are generally considered less weldable than austenitic stainless steels. In case of welding of first-generation ferritic stainless steels, rapid grain growth of ferrite takes place in both the fusion zone and heat-affected zone. These coarse grains have very low ductility and toughness. Excessive grain growth can be avoided by using lower welding heat input and or certain types of additives. They are lower in cost and …
