Assessment of Groundwater Quality of Deoli Tehsil (Tonk District, Rajasthan) with Special Emphasis on Nitrate Analysis
Abstract: High nitrate level in water can cause methemoglobinemia or blue baby syndrome, a condition found especially in infants under six months. For this study, 40 samples were collected from different villages of Deoli tehsil, Tonk, Rajasthan, India during the premonsoon 2011 in clean polyethylene bottles. The nitrate concentration along with physicochemical parameters in drinking water samples was determined by using standard techniques. Keywords: nitrate, blue baby syndrome, Deoli areaCite this ArticleMeena …

Sources and Health Effects of Arsenic, Fluoride, and Nitrate in Water
Abstract: Arsenic, fluoride, and nitrate are major inorganic contaminants in water that pose significant risks to human health. These contaminants are introduced into water sources through both natural geological processes and human activities. Arsenic is primarily released from arsenic-bearing minerals through weathering, dissolution, and erosion, while human activities such as agriculture, mining, and fossil fuel combustion further enhance its presence in water. Fluoride contamination mainly results from the dissolution of fluoride-bearing …
