Analysis of Cognitive Radio Spectrum Sensing Algorithms Using Various Noise Channels
Abstract: As we know that now a day’s there is a huge advancement in wireless communication and its applications, efficient use of spectrum has been a great issue for researchers. Due to such issue, development in cognitive radio (the intelligent network) has been in demand which will analyze the spectrum to increase its efficiency by utilizing it properly. This paper focuses on sensing the spectrum in order to find out the …

Comparison Between Reed–Solomon and BCH Code with Various Modulation Schemes Over Coding Gain and Coding Rate
Abstract: The main objective of this research paper is to make a comparison between the performance of Reed-Solomon (RS) and Bose–Chaudhuri–Hocquenghem (BCH) codes across different modulation schemes concerning coding gain and coding rate within an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel system, while maintaining a constant transmission bandwidth. In this paper bit error rate (BER) versus signal/noise (S/N) performance of a Simulink model is validated with MATLAB results for a RS …

Wavelets-based Denoising by Optimizing Polynomial Threshold Function
Abstract: In this paper, a wavelets-based technique for denoising of one-dimensional signals is proposed which employs artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm for optimizing a new polynomial threshold function. The coefficients of the threshold function are optimized dynamically to maximize the output signal to noise ratio (SNR). ABC algorithm calculates the coefficients for maximum output SNR. The proposed technique is tested for three artificial signals, namely blocks, bumps and Doppler signals. Additive …

Application of Radial Basis Function Neural Network in Power Quality Events Classification
Abstract: Power Quality concerns have become more important as the Smart Grid has evolved. Computers, microprocessor-controlled electronic loads, and power electronic devices are all used in urban development. Disturbances in power quality are caused by these electronic devices. Variations in the amplitude and frequency of system voltages and currents from their nominal levels identify PQ difficulties. We offer a hybrid technique to accomplishing this goal in this paper. To classify PQ …
