Abstract: Mucormycosis is a rare angio-invasive opportunistic fungal infection that has become an emerging challenge among COVID-19 patients. The higher incidence of mucormycosis among COVID-19 patients has been attributed to hypoxia, pre-existing or steroid induced diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, increased ferritin levels, and SARS-CoV-2 or steroid mediated immunosuppression.
