A Review on the Design of Vortex Flow Generator to Optimize Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Straight Tube
Abstract: This research focuses on the design and evaluation of a vortex flow generator (VFG) for improving heat transfer performance in a straight circular tube. Vortex generators create longitudinal and swirling secondary flows inside the tube, which enhance fluid mixing, disturb the thermal boundary layer, and increase convective heat transfer. Vortex flow generators placed inside straight tubes are widely used to improve heat transfer performance in thermal systems. These devices create …

Application of ANSYS in heat transfer characteristics of straight hollow tubes
Abstract: The mess analysis of straight hollow tubes have been done by many analysis software but out of all ANSYS be considered as the better due the provision of change in parameters. Therefore in the present study, ANSYS Fluent is used for the analysis of the straight tubes. ANSYS Workbench is used for the analysis. Geometry tool Design Modeler is then applied for the design of the tubes. The solution of …

Rheology and Flow Properties of Fracturing Gels in Straight and Coiled Tubing
Abstract: This study involves experimental investigation of rheological and hydraulic characteristics of aqueous based polymeric and surfactant fluids in straight and coiled tubing. The fluids matrix includes guar, HPG, PHPA, welan, xanthan, and surfactant. Bohlin rheometer was used to evaluate rheological and viscoelastic characteristics. For hydraulic characteristics, small- and large-scale flow loops were used. It is observed that all fluids exhibit comparable non-Newtonian behavior and improved viscous and elastic properties. Among …

Thermal Management of Different Composites Materials Using a Convergent and Straight Vortex Tube
Abstract: The present study focuses on an in-depth and meticulous exploration into the intricate realm of thermal management in three distinct yet widely utilized composite materials—namely, Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) Composites, Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymers (GFRPs), and Aramid Fiber Composites (Kevlar). This investigation employs an innovative counter-flow vortex tube system, meticulously analyzing and comparing the thermal efficiency of these materials under different intake configurations. Specifically, two distinct geometrical intake designs—a straight …

The Effect of CNT Coating on Convective Heat Transfer Coefficient, Heat Flux, Roughness, Pressure Drop of Porous Material with 3-Omega Technique: A Review
Abstract: The paper deals with the tentative survey on the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of CNT glaze on a stainless steel substrate in a rectangular comprehensive channel with water as the working fluid. The extremely high thermal conductivity of individual carbon nanotubes was predicted hypothetically and pragmatic experimentally. Under both, laminar and turbulent flow conditions, the experiments were conducted with Reynolds number unpredictable from 500–2600. A nanofluid, which depends …

Thermo-Hydraulic Enhancement of Annular Finned Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers Using Epoxy-Based Polymer Composites: A Material–Geometry Coupled CFD Investigation
Abstract: Shell-and-tube heat exchangers remain a backbone of industrial thermal systems, yet their performance is often limited by relatively low shell-side heat transfer and the weight and cost associated with conventional metallic components. In this context, the integration of polymer composite materials offers a promising pathway toward lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and performance-tunable heat exchanger designs. The present study investigates the thermo-hydraulic performance of a straight-tube shell-and-tube heat exchanger equipped with annular fins, …

Thermo-hydraulic Performance of Annular-Finned Double-Pipe Heat Exchanger: Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Metallic and Polymer Composite Tube Wall Materials
Abstract: Double-pipe heat exchangers are central to the process industries — dependable, easily maintained, and straightforward to fabricate. Their conventional form relies on metallic tube materials, most often copper or stainless steel. Both metals conduct heat well, but they are dense, prone to corrosion in aggressive service environments, and increasingly at odds with the light-weighting goals that drive modern system design. Fibre-reinforced polymer composites, epoxy-based materials, and thermally enhanced thermoplastics such …

Design and Simulation of Proximal Convoluted Tubule Flow Kinetics for Kidney-on-chip Applications
Abstract: The primary function of human kidney is purifying the impure blood in the body. In addition to this, kidney performs balance homeostasis, solute balance and blood pressure maintenance. Proximal convoluted tube (PCT) is a primary part in the nephron which plays a crucial role in the excretion, secretion and re-absorption of solutes and proteins. While performing all these functions, kidneys tends to get affected in several ways leading to failure …
