Comprehending and Managing Restless Leg Syndrome
Abstract: An need to move that arises during rest or is made worse by rest, that happens in the evening or at night, and that goes away or gets better with movement is the hallmark of restless legs syndrome (RLS), a frequent sensorimotor disease. The degree, frequency, and age of start of symptoms vary greatly; severe types can impair mood, quality of life, and sleep. Periodic leg movements are common in …

Noise-Removal Techniques for ECG Signals – A Survey Approach
Abstract: Modernization in medical sciences has led to the electrical signals vary according to the variation in the biological activities and abnormalities in the human body. ECG measures and records the electrical activity of the heart. Hence, the signals should be free from undesired signals to accurately analyze the abnormalities in the human body. Different techniques have been applied to make the ECG signal noise free. This paper presents a survey …

The Role of Adaptive Filters in Enhancing Acoustic Echo Cancellation Efficiency in Noisy Environments
Abstract: The novel approach that this work discusses is a DCD-based iterative learning filter approach improved with deep learning methodologies, designed to improve the efficiency of acoustic echo cancellation. The proposed system can really manage both linear and nonlinear echo scenarios, dynamically adapting to fluctuating acoustic environments. The above comparative evaluations with standard filter, the standard RLS filter, indicate that the mean square error, and the standard deviation of the correlation …

Perceptual Features Based Continuous Speech Recognition in Additive Noise Environment Using Various Modelling Techniques
Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to discuss the effectiveness of Mel frequency perceptual features and the noise reduction technique in evaluating the performance of multi speaker independent continuous speech recognition system in additive noise environment by using various modelling techniques. The proposed perceptual features are captured and trained using clustering technique, GMM, continuous density HMM and back propagation neural networks. Speech recognition system is evaluated on clean and …

Stationary Wavelet and Recursive Least Square Filtering Based Fetal ECG Data Extraction from Composite Abdominal Signal
Abstract: This paper introduces a fast methodology for fetal ECG extraction based on stationary wavelet and noise canceler adaptive filter with the recursive least square filter. Firstly, signals are preprocessed by moving averaging filter for removing baseline wander. The stationary wavelet and the recursive least square filter is applied on preprocessed signal that effectively separates the maternal ECG and extracts fetal ECG (fECG) from the abdominal ECG. Finally, fetal ECG(fECG) is …

An Efficient Recursive Least Square (ERLS) Algorithm for Spectral Estimation with the Aid of Wavelet and Artificial Intelligence
Abstract: The spectral estimation technique is used for time frequency signal analysis, speech processing, and other signal processing applications. Some drawbacks of RLS algorithm are that it requires high computational power and the output obtained is numerically instability. So, the spectral efficiency of the signal is affected and a power error occurs in the estimator. In this paper, an efficient recursive least square (ERLS) algorithm is proposed for improving the power …

Predicting the Physical Property of Asphaltene Molecule using Fuzzy System
Abstract: Asphaltenes — the heaviest and most aromatic compounds of crude oil— have a strong tendency to aggregate in solution to form complex colloidal structures. They generally impede producing, transporting and refining of crude oil resources. An indepth knowledge of the physical behavior of asphaltenes is needed to mitigate these effects. Predicting the physical behavior of asphaltene such as density is complex and nonlinear as it is a complex molecular mixture …

Ziegler-Nichols Method for the Optimization of PPID Parameters
Abstract: Present work proposed the controller with only one gain to be tuned. This is known as the Pseudo-Proportional Integral Derivative (PPID) controller. The PPID controller is proposed with fixed value of KC. This KC is obtained by Ziegler-Nichols tuning method. The PPID is applied to damped pendulum model. Comparison of fixed PPID is done with the existing Recursive Least Square (RLS) estimator method. Keywords: PID, Ziegler-Nichols tuning method, automatic tuning, stability-->
