Urban Green space Site Suitability analysis of Angul City, Odisha – A Geospatial Approach
Abstract: The urban ecological system is crucial for human survival in cities. Residents receive various services directly or indirectly from the functions of ecosystems, known as ecosystem services. Heat stress in urban areas can be particularly harmful, as the negative effects of increasing urbanization lead to significant temperature changes that impact both vulnerable species and human health. While there are several methods, such as modifying roof materials and using lighter colors, …

Mapping of Dangerous Glacial Lakes by Using Systematic Extraction Approach in Different Catchments of Upper Indus Basin (UIB) Pakistan
Abstract: The glaciers are nature's most valuable fresh water resource for irrigation, industry, and hydroelectric growth, as well as for the present and future needs of millions of people who live downstream. Numerous of the waterways in the HKH region receive a significant percentage of ice melt water from this solid reservoir. Many of the glaciers which consist of massive amount of permanent snow and ice are found to generate several …

Seasonal Dynamics of Coastal Landscapes: A Critical Review Using Remote Sensing and GIS
Abstract: Coastal landscapes are among the most dynamic environments on Earth, undergoing continuous transformation due to both natural processes and anthropogenic activities. In India, particularly along the southern coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, shoreline morphology and sediment transport patterns are significantly influenced by seasonal monsoons, cyclones, storm surges, waves, tides, and changing river discharges. These factors contribute to varying rates of coastal erosion, accretion, inundation, and land- …

Integration of Multispectral Satellite data with Ensemble Machine Learning Models for Wetland Classification: a new Ramsar Site in Central India
Abstract: For biodiversity conservation, several wetlands in India have been classified as Ramsar sites, and Sirpur Lake is a recent addition to the list. The objective of this paper is to use Sentinel optical data with 10-meter resolution to prepare a robust and accurate classified map which will be crucial for further analysis. The data on thirteen spectral bands along with four essential spectral indices, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Normalized …
