Urban Eye: Manhole Surveillance with IoT
Abstract: Every nation hopes to implement the idea of the "smart city" on its own. Many different issues must be resolved in order to grow the seed into a large tree. The drainage system is one of them, and it is essential. With the right drainage system, even a tiny region can make a significant contribution to society. A sewer system can be accessed through manholes. Manholes are the best approach …

Smart City Based Manhole Monitoring System
Abstract: Urban environments are increasingly reliant on complex underground infrastructure networks, with manholes serving as critical access points for maintenance, inspection, and drainage. However, traditional manhole monitoring methods, often manual and labour-intensive, can be inefficient and prone to human error. This can lead to serious safety and health hazards, such as accidents caused by open manholes, exposure to harmful gas leaks, and infrastructure damage from overflows due to undetected blockage This …

IoT-Based Manhole Detection and Monitoring System
Abstract: Urban drainage systems face numerous challenges, including blockages, harmful gas accumulation, and flooding, which pose risks to public safety and environmental health. This project introduces an IoT-enabled solution designed to monitor and address these issues efficiently. The system incorporates sensors to detect critical parameters such as gas levels, temperature, water presence, and nearby obstacles. A unique lifting mechanism ensures the hardware adapts to challenging conditions, maintaining uninterrupted operation. The system …
