Hardware Solution for LVRT Enhancement Techniques in DFIG - A Review
Abstract: With the advancement of wind power technology, penetration of wind power to power systems has increased significantly. Grid codes require that the wind generators should remain connected for specified time even under low voltage conditions. Stricter grid code requirements are now necessary to assure system stability and reliability due to the growing integration of wind power into contemporary power networks, which is being pushed by the quick development of wind …

Enhancement of LVRT Capability in DFIG based Microgrids Using STATCOM
Abstract: The improvement of a grid-connected wind microgrid's Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) capability using a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is investigated in this research. The increasing penetration of wind energy into modern power systems necessitates advanced control strategies to maintain grid stability during voltage disturbances and fault conditions. In this study, a STATCOM is employed with an effectively tuned PI controller to provide enhanced dynamic response, voltage regulation, and reactive power …

Strengthening Low Voltage Ride-Through in Wind Energy Systems: A Comparative Study of DVR and STATCOM
Abstract: This study looks at the various methods used to improve the low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) capabilities of wind turbine systems (WT) that are based on double-fed induction generators (DFIG). The Type-III WT machine, which is mostly based on DFIG, is instantly connected to the grid without the digital power interface, making the terminal voltage or reactive electricity output unmanageable. This is because the world utilizes between 20% and 25% of renewable …
