Recovery of Iron Values from Waste Iron Ore Slime
Abstract: Iron ore slime is a waste material generated after beneficiation of iron ores. Due to limited iron ore resources and fast depleting of high-grade iron ore, iron ore producers are emphasizing on recovery of iron values from iron ore slime. Different beneficiation techniques such as hydrocyclone, Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separator (WHIMS), Dispersion-flocculation, and Flotation are some options to recover the lost iron value from the waste. In the present …

Partial Replacement of Sand and Cement by Iron Ore Slime for Concrete Building Material
Abstract: Iron ore slime is a waste material generated after beneficiation of iron ores. It causes air, water and land pollution. From resource conservation point of view, the recovery of iron values is important and their use in different application. Researchers are also trying to find out value-added alternative application of iron ore slime rejects. In this paper, iron ore slime was used in concrete building material and evaluated the partial …

Recovery of Iron Values from Iron Ore Slimes using Reagents
Abstract: Mining wastes include waste generated during the extraction, beneficiation or processing of minerals like iron ore fines, slimes and tailings. Approximately 10–20% of the raw material is discarded as slimes in to slime ponds/tailing dams. Recovery of iron values from slimes result in economic benefit by utilization of waste as a resource and minimizes the threat to the environment. The iron ore slime is generally considered as waste due to …

Behavior of Iron Ores During the Sponge Iron Production Process
Abstract: Behavior of natural iron ores with coal from different mines were undertaken to achieve better quality of sponge iron during direct reduction. Iron ore is the raw material used to make sponge iron, which is one of the main raw materials to make steel. 98% of the mined iron ore is used to make steel. The paper gives the introduction about subject. It tells about the need of direct reduced …
