Implications from Iridium—Compose in Versatility
Abstract: Iridium (Ir) is a platinum group of metals suggested to be used in electronic component manufacturing to substitute gold for catalysts, alloy elements and increasing problems. Ir is a high melting metal to avoid corrosion, so rendering is called green as stipulated. Iridium artificial photosynthesis and electron generation capabilities have suggestive problems in supplementing the respective food value after chlorophyll composition and enhancing electricity from supplemented electricity through wind tunnels. …

Generating Fuel Energy by Catalytic Pyrolyzing of Microalgae
Abstract: In biomass pyrolysis process, a catalyst is used to modify the pyrolysis gases' chemical composition and increase the bio-oil fraction. This process uses the byproducts of thermal conversion processes. It is anticipated that the introduction of pyrolysis catalysts in the case of microalgae will lower the bio-oxygen oil's content and increase the number of added-value compounds in this liquid fraction. Catalysts can also help decrease the nitrogen in bio-oil. As …

Economic Sustainability of Transportation Infrastructure Procurement: The Differing Site Condition Clause Debate as an Underlying Environmental Trigger to Cost Overruns
Abstract: Case law is rife with contractual disputes arising due to lack of adequate geotechnical risk containment during procurement. The use of a ‘Differing Site Conditions (DSC) clause’, implies that, in the event of encountering a subsurface/geo-environmental condition different from that which was indicated in the contract, the owner bears the additional cost for executing the work under such conditions. However, the literature indicates a divergence in industry practise, with some …

Stakeholder’s Influence on Design-Construction Planning
Abstract: The design phase requires several interactions between the client and the architect as compared to other phases. Major decisions on the project were finalized during this design phase with the inadequate involvement of the forthcoming stakeholders—fabricators, contractors and vendors. Further, fragmentation in design and construction phase had led to redesign and rework during the construction execution. Additionally, this fragmentation had design solutions that had not involved constructability issues, which resulted …

Finite Element Analysis and Validation of Axial Capacity of RC Columns Made of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC)
Abstract: Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC) possesses many excellent dynamic performances such as; high resistance to explosion and penetration. It has little effect on pre-cracking behavior in uniaxial compression, but substantially enhances its post cracking response. This response leads to a greatly improved ductility and toughness. Steel fibers in SFRC are capable of preventing crack propagation as well as brittle failure of columns under uniaxial compression. To this end, four reinforced …

Method of Analysis for Chloride Distribution in Concrete from Torrent Data
Abstract: Design w/c ratio becomes less important than achieved cover performance in the case of existing structure. Therefore, inspection data of chloride profile from some real structures do not always obey the rule of Fick’s law, suggesting the influence of a new parameter. In this study, chloride ion profiles and behavior of penetrating water for normal, fly ash and slag concrete with w/c ratio as 40, 55, and 70%, respectively, cast …
