Synthesis and Anti-Bacterial Activity Profile of Cyclized Diazonium Compounds
Abstract: Synthesis of cyclised diazonium compounds and their in vitro activity against various microorganisms is described. Several primary aromatic amines were diazotised and the resulting diazotised compounds were coupled with active methylene compounds to give hydrazono derivatives. These were cyclized with hydrazine hydrate, phenyl hydrazine, urea and o-phenylene diamine to give pyrazolin-5-one, substituted pyrazolin-5-ones, pyrimidin-di-ones and benzodiazepinone derivatives, respectively. Some hydrazine derivatives were also produced by reduction of diazo compounds with …

Synthesis, Characterization and Biological Evaluation of Some Novel Phenazine Derivatives
Abstract: Novel phenazine analogues (PZ1‑PZ6) were synthesized, characterized by the spectral analysis and screened for anti-arthritis activity by bovin serum and egg albumin protein denaturation method. The synthetic route involves the equimolar mixture of ortho-phenylenediamine and ammonium persulphate which were dissolved in 1 M HCl to give 2,3-diaminophenazine(I). Different substituted aromatic aldehydes were added to the 2,3-diaminophenazine(I) and dissolved in methanol. The reaction mixture was stirred for 1‑2 h and then …

Preparation of a Novel Polyherbal Hair Dye Formulation: Better Coloring and Protection Offered as Compared to Marketed Products
Abstract: Synthetic dyes contain permanent coloring agents such as aromatic diamine, amino compounds (4-amino-2-hydrosytoluene, meta-aminophenol, etc.), hydric phenols, polycompounds (para-phenylenediamine) which results in many side effects such as skin irritation, erythrema, loss or damage of hair, and even skin cancer. Dyes obtained from various plant sources are simply available, economical, safe, competent, and rarely have side-effects. In traditional systems of medicines such as Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy, the prescribed dyes …

Molecular Docking Technique Assisted Discovery of Some Hydroxylated Chalcone Molecules as α-glucosidase Inhibitors
Abstract: The present study involved exploration of the inhibitory potential of some A-ring hydroxylated chalcone compounds against PDB ID: 2QMJ file (Maltase-glucoamylase in complex with acarbose) with the assistance of iGEMDOCK (Genetic Evolutionary Method for Molecular Docking) software. The present study highlighted the immense potentials of several unexplored hydroxyl group (in ring-A) containing chalcones in successfully inhibiting the one of the most effective anti-hyperglycemic based enzymatic target α-glucosidase. The research has …
