Strategies for Reduction of Carbon Emission in India: A Policy Review
Abstract: Road transport is accountable for considerable emissions in the atmosphere in the form of carbon content, nitrogen, sulphur and other particulate matter. The average annual concentration of suspended particulate matter is very high in the Indian cities reaching the threshold of the prescribed critical levels set by the WHO. It has been observed that environmental pollution control policies have minimum impact on the CO2 emission(1) This review contributes a reassessment …

Copper(II) Catalyzed Oxidation of Hydrazine Hydrate by Hexacyanoferrate(III)
Abstract: The kinetics of Cu(II) catalyzed oxidation of hydrazine by hexacyanoferrate(III) is studied in acid medium. The stoichiometry of the reaction is 1:1. The first order condition [N2H5] > [Fe(CN)63−] is maintained. The order of the reaction is unity with respect to Fe(CN)63−, fractional orders with respect to hydrazine and copper. The reaction is independent of variation of sulphuric acid and ionic strength. A suitable mechanism is proposed for the reaction

Production of Bioethanol from Agro-food Waste (Potato Peel) with the Aid of NPK Fertilizer and Moringa Leaf as Activators
Abstract: In this work, the production of ethanol with the aid of activators was investigated. Two-step hydrolysis of sweet potato peel was studied. Acid hydrolysis was carried out using dilute sulphuric acid, while enzyme hydrolysis was studied using Aspergillus niger inoculum. The effect of activators on ethanol yield was also investigated. Saccharification was studied using aspergillus niger which is a starch degrading organism to generate convertible sugar. Fermentation was carried out …

Comparative Analysis of Nutrient Content and Cooking Characteristics between Binamoog and Sonamoog of Bangladesh
Abstract: A study was conducted to ascertain biochemical composition and cooking qualities of mungbean seeds (Vigna radiata). Two varieties, namely Binamoog and Sonamoog (Deshi) were included in the experiment. The varieties differed in their seed size, seed volume and seed density. In the proximate compositions, the moisture, ash, protein, fat, starch, total sugar and reducing sugar contents of Binamoog seeds were found as 12.35%, 3.97%, 22.79%, 1.20%, 49.15%, 2.73% and 2.12%, …

Review of Mercaptoimidazoles as Anti-infective Agents
Abstract: 2-Mercaptoimidazole or imidazol-2-thione is five-membered heterocyclic ring having two nitrogen, same as imidazole and sulphur group attached to it at 2nd position. Imidazol-2-thione and its derivatives shows the biological activities such as antibacterial, fungicidal, antioxidant, antitumor, and antitubercular. In this review we have collected information about the 2-Mercaptoimidazole nucleus and its antimicrobial activity for further research and development.
