Anthrax Toxin Time-Resolved Absorption and Resonance FT-IR and Raman Biospectroscopy and Density Functional Theory (DFT) Investigation of Vibronic-Mode Coupling Structure in Vibrational Spectra Analysis
Abstract: Anthrax toxin is a three-protein exotoxin that is secreted by the bacterium's virulent strains, the anthrax causative agent Bacillus anthracis. Harry Smith first found the toxin in 1954. Anthrax toxin consists of a protein called a protective antigen (PA) binding cell protein and two enzyme parts called an edema factor (EF) and a deadly factor (LF). These three protein components act together to impart their physiological effects. Assembled complexes containing …

Homoeopathic Management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome: A Case Study
Abstract: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a functional GI disorder characterized by abdominal pain and altered bowel habits. It is the most common reason for referral to gastroenterologists. The global mean prevalence of IBS ranges from 1.1% in France and Iran to 35.5% in Mexico. Patients often experience the onset of symptoms as young adults and most patients have their first symptoms before the age of 35. IBS has both physiological …

Developing an Assessment Protocol in Ayurvedic Research for Hyperemesis Gravidarum with Special Reference to Garbhini Chardi
Abstract: Garbhini Chardi (nausea and vomiting in pregnancy) is described in Ayurvedic texts as one of the Vyakta Garbha Lakshanas – early physiological signs indicating pregnancy. However, when this symptom becomes excessive, persistent, or distressing, it may transition from a normal event to a pathological condition, requiring timely intervention to safeguard maternal and fetal health. In advanced stages, it leads to day-to-day incapacitation, weight loss, dehydration, and metabolic disturbances – clinically …

Shelf Life of Functional Soup Mix Based on Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) and Flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)
Abstract: Functional food provides physiological benefits beyond the basic function of supplying nutrients. Considering increasing acceptability of soup, its convenient cooking and healthy ingredients in barley and flaxseed, barley flaxseed based functional dry soup mix (BFSM) was prepared from 46.296% whole barely flour, 23.148% roasted flaxseed powder and 30.555% seasoning (flavourings and anticaking agent). BFSM was sensorially acceptable, nutritious, low glycemic, and exhibited antioxidant capacity. Here, storability of vacuum packed BFSM …

Sublethal Toxic Effect of Paraquat Dichloride on Tissue Biochemical Markers in Labeo rohita
Abstract: The present study investigated the sublethal toxic effect of the commercial grade herbicide, Paraquat dichloride (24% SL), on Labeo rohita stressing the importance on biochemical parameters. Fishes were exposed to the sublethal concentrations of paraquat dichloride (5 μg/l and 10 μg/l) for 24 h in treated groups. Treated groups showed highly changed biochemical parameters on their exposure to the herbicide paraquat, when compared to the control. Tissues such as brain, …
