Evaluating Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Diesel Engine Fuelled with Biodiesel from Diverse Oil Resource: A Review
Abstract: Biodiesel, being renewable and sustainable alternate to conventional diesel fuel, is being studied aggressively for its use in compression ignition engine for performance and emissions since last 20 years. Biodiesel, composed of saturated and unsaturated long-chain fatty acid alkyl esters, is produced from vegetable oils, edible and non-edible and animal fats through process of trans-esterification. Looking to the facts that petroleum reservoirs are rapidly diminishing, crude petroleum prices are reaching …

Catalysed Biofuels Using Vegetable Oils and Animal Fats
Abstract: It is a first to use biochemical modification of fats to create fuel for transport. The chemical transformation is required to produce products that are more useful and have qualities similar to those of crude oil-derived fuels. Biodiesel (a combination of methyl esters produced by transesterification) and green diesel are the two forms of fuels discussed (paraffins produced by hydrogenation of oils). Three bio-lubricant synthesis strategies are also discussed. Biofuels …

Evaluation of the effect of fuel preheat on the performance and emission of a diesel engine using regression analysis.
Abstract: In this work an attempt was made to determine the effects of loading in Kirloskar 3.7 kW single cylinder, four stroke, compression ignition engine with “diesel and biofuel”as fuels. The effects of ‘fuel preheat’ on brake power and emission characteristics were investigated. The fuel preheat temperature was increased from 35C to 50C and emissions like CO and HC were found to be decreasing considerably, but, slight increase in brake power …

Comparative Study of Performance and Emission of Gasoline and Gasoline-Ethanol Blends
Abstract: AbstractThis study is about analysing performance of gasoline and gasoline-ethanol blends in multi-fuel engine. Performance, combustion and emission characteristics of gasoline fuel and gasoline ethanol blended fuels have been analysed in detail under various load conditions, various ignition angle, different compression ratios and at different rpm. The study showed improvement in thermal efficiency at higher compression ratios compared to lower compression ratios as well as with ethanol blended fuel. There …

Water in Diesel Emulsion: Efficient Fuel
Abstract: Diesel engines are the most power conversion efficient engines, due to which it dominates the usage in various sectors but in spite of these advantages it emits various pollutants in air which can no more be tolerated. Modern hardware based solutions for pollution control with high price tag are incompatible with existing diesel engines and are pressing needs to develop technology which can fit into existing engine model and lower …

Performance Evaluation of Petrol-Ethanol Blends and Testing on Multicylinder 4-Stroke SI Engine
Abstract: The usage of different alcohols as a fuel for spark ignition (SI) engines has been in progress since the invention of engine, with ethanol being renewable, bio-based and ecofriendly is the best replacement for petrol as fuel in SI engines. Ethanol is derived basically from sugarcane, cassava, corn and other waste biomass materials. The choice of ethanol as a fuel is due to the positive influence on engine performance due …

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH IN NOBAKE SAND
Abstract: No bake molds are expendable sand molds, similar to typical sand moulds, except they also contain a quick-setting liquid resin and catalyst. In no bake molding process the moulding sand is poured into the flask and held until the resin solidifies, which occurs at room temperature. It is called as a cold-setting process, as there is no heat involved in it. As a result of this molding process, mold produced …

Boron Nitride Unleashed: Revolutionary Insights into Its Superhard Phases and Machining Aptitude
Abstract: Exploration from the prehistoric era has proven steel to be a hard substance. According to research, the four main crystalline forms of boron nitride are graphitic, cubic, rhombohedral, and wurtzitic. Better hard materials for industrial processes have been provided by diamond, hard ceramic, and cermet in the process of developing the front of the script, which is descriptive. Turning, cutting, drilling, boring, and grinding of hard materials have been linked …
