Design of Passive Phase Shifter for Beam Steering Applications
Abstract: The role of phase shifters in the field of beam steerable antennas is vital. The paper presents a navel technique in designing of phase shifters. This technique is facilitating many advantages along with phase shifting, such as reducing mutual coupling between array antenna elements results reduction in overall antenna size and miniaturize the radiating antenna aperture. This structure also shields the components behind the antenna. This method helps in eliminating …

Frozen Waves: Double T-Shape Patch Antenna Sensor for Precise Ice and Snow Measurement
Abstract: To design a Micro strip patch antenna with double T shaped slots at operating frequency 2.4GHz was developed for ice detection and measurement application. Detection was performed by monitoring the resonance frequency and amplitude of the transmission coefficient between the antenna sensor and a broadband receiver. The patch antenna sensor is also capable of distinguishing between ice and water, respectively when compared to the bare sensor. The antenna was also …

A Comparative Study on Effect of Dielectric Covers on Microstrip Patch Antenna
Abstract: In this paper, the square patch microstrip antenna covered with different dielectric covers affects are studied at different heights above the patch and also compared their performance parameters with theoretical and experimental. The square patch antenna has been designed at 2.4GHz on airlon diclad substrate, whose dielectric constant is 2.2 and thickness is 1.6mm and simulated using HFSS simulation software. The affect of dielectric cover above the patch at height …

Experimental Analysis of Rectangular and Circular Microstrip Patch Antenna with Superstrates
Abstract: This paper focusing on the experimental analysis of rectangular and circular microstrip patchantennas with and without radome (superstrate). The proposed antennas were designed at2.4GHz, using HFSS simulation software and fabricated on Arlon DiClad 880 substratewhose dielectric constant is 2.2, loss tangent is 0.0009 and thickness of the substrate is1.6mm. Placing different dielectric constant of the superstrates above the patch antennasperformance characteristics have been studied of both antennas on the basis …

A Novel Antenna Design based on a Single UC-PBG Layer of High Gain for Wireless Power Transfer
Abstract: In this study, a brand-new, highly effective antenna design is put forth to provide a directional radiation pattern with a small beam width for wireless power transfer. The proposed antenna is constructed from a cross-shaped patch of square holes. A favorable eclipse is paired with the antenna patch to provide circular polarization-symmetrical radiation. A symmetrical quadrature stare-shaped unit cell has a uniform compact photonic bandgap layer (UC-PBG) on top of …

Design and Implementation of Microstrip Line Fed Rectangular Patch Antenna
Abstract: AbstractThis paper presents a high-performance microstrip line fed rectangular patch antenna with resonance frequency of 2.75GHz. The antenna has been simulated using IE3D software as well as HFSS. The return loss of the patch antenna found to be 24dB through IE3D simulation tool. From the results obtained, it is clear that harmonics exists at 3.75GHz which successfully minimized by removing a part of microstrip conductor with dimensions in accordance to …
