Abstract: Background: Uttarabasti (UB) is a specialized Panchakarma procedure involving intrauterine instillation of medicated Sneha, classically indicated in Yonivyapad and Vandhyatwa. It facilitates targeted local drug delivery, bypassing gastrointestinal metabolism and enabling direct therapeutic action at the uterine level. In Ayurvedic understanding, UB achieves Garbhashaya Shuddhi and Apana Vata Anulomana — the two primary pathological corrections considered essential in Vandhyatwa.
