Home Safety and Security using NodeMCU: A Smart IoT Solution

Abstract

Homeowners are increasingly worried about the rise in burglaries and house invasions. Conventional home security systems are frequently pricy, intricate, and challenging to install. However, the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) has opened new possibilities for the creation of clever and affordable home security solutions. In this study, we present an open-source platform called NodeMCU that is built on the ESP8266 Wi-Fi module for a smart IoT solution for home safety and security. To identify and respond to potential security threats, our technology includes a range of sensors and actuators, including motion sensors, door/window sensors, and alarms. Through a series of tests and simulations, we show how effective our solution is. Our findings demonstrate that our solution is capable of quickly and effectively detecting and responding to security threats, making it an attractive option for home safety and security.
