Abstract

The key factor in determining the flow characteristics of a fluidized bed is the outlet vane angle of the distributor. It helps to predict the flow type, bed thickness and hence helps to obtain the required characteristics by selecting an appropriate angle. This study provides a detailed report about the analysis of important flow characteristics such as velocity, pressure, curl velocity, velocity swirl normal and turbulence with respect to different vane angles, by creating and comparing a numerical model of different distributor’s in CFX.
