Role of Hybrid Controller Based FACTS Devices in Relieving Power Crisis

Abstract

The power crisis is a global concern for research and development engineers. These issues may be summarized manifold. These issues may be sudden outage/ failure of power system network, considerable power loss on the line, the voltage flickers, lack of proper equipment’s to monitor and protection, presence of significant harmonic level in the line that affects the performance of the equipment connected to line.  Some of these issues may persist for long and other some are of shorter duration. Though the various topologies of power electronic devices are available in order to mitigate these crisis, but they still need further improvement in terms of topologies, qualitative sensors/ transducers, coordinated control strategies (i.e., hybrid/ adaptive/ optimal) etc. The present literature recommends use of one of this same Facts controllers to analyze the impact on voltage flickers here on line, which are common events and are typically associated with network faults, transformer energization, or begin of huge motors. While they are limited in length, they can create serious difficulties with sensitive loads like power electronic devices. Thus, a quick three-phase power supply repair person (DVR) has indeed been developed and modeled using an adaptable control to determine its effectiveness, and the associated findings are reported.
