Abstract

In this paper, Symbol-Error-Rate (SER) performance of Linear dispersive coded (LDC)4X4 MIMO system over Rayleigh and Rician fading channelshas been discussed. Channel encoder has been used to reduce the effect of the burst errors occurred due to noise. Convolution coding and inter-leaver has reduced the effect of burst noise in LDC system. Precoding requiring Channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT) has been used to lessen the effect of fading. Singular value decomposition algorithm has been used for the purpose of precoding. Precoding of convolution coded 4x4 MIMO system using LDC has been done over Rayleigh and Rician fading channel. A precoded system has provided significant gain of 16dB at SER of 10-2.6and 18dBat SER of 10-1.9 compared to spatially multiplexed systems over Rayleigh and Rician fading model respectively. A precoded system has provided significant gain of 8dB at SER of 10-3 for Rayleigh and at SER of 10-2.9 for Rician compared to LDC systems. The Precoded system has shown performance improvement of 8dB in comparison to LDC in both fading channel models. Keywords: MIMO, LDC, SER, CSITCite this Article Jain G, Kansal A.
