The attendance is taken in every institute, school, college and library. Traditional approach for attendance is teacher calls student's name and records attendance. It takes time to record the attendance. For each lecture, this is wastage of time. To avoid these losses, we designed a system which is based on fingerprint. This system maintains the attendance records of students. So we designed an efficient module that comprises a fingerprint sensor to manage the attendance record of students. This module enrols the student’s fingerprints, enrolling is a onetime process and their fingerprints are stored in the fingerprint sensor. During enrolment of fingerprint we require a system. After that we can disconnect the module from the system and insert a battery into the module. The presence of each student is displayed on LCD and at the same time updated in a database. When the users log into the database, the data is sent through WI-Fi to the server which maintains the records of the students and is updated in server database. If a student is absent for a particular class or attendance goes below certain percentage, an SMS will be sent to their registered mobile number.
