Abstract

Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is a method of encoding digital data on multiple carrier frequencies. The OFDM systems till now have been used as what we can call as a conventional OFDM incorporates Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) blocks in their transmitters and FFT (FFT) blocks in their receivers. Recent research shows that the use of Inverse Discrete Wavelet Transform (IDWT) in place of IFFT and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) in place of FFT renders increased system performance. For all conditions kept same the performance of both the systems are evaluated, DWT OFDM yields better results than FFT OFDM when Haar Wavelet is used.
