Abstract

Infantile hemangioma, or called as strawberry hemangioma, is the most common vascular tumor in infancy. Although most will resolve, the rest of IHs are significantly worrisome; some can ulcerate or even grow at an unpredictable rate, which leads to disfigurement and dysfunctional body parts. The treatment should be focused on prevention of life-threatening complications, prevention of permanent scarring, and avoidance of aggressive treatments; these are the goals of management. This review article is made to increase the awareness of using oral propranolol as a choice of nonsurgical therapy, especially for countries where surgery is not an option.  Keywords: infantile hemangioma, propranolol, beta-blocker, tumor.Cite this ArticleDavita TR, Hendrani AD.
