Factors Related to Professional Satisfaction in Speech Language Pathologists: A Pre-Covid Survey in Indian Context

Abstract

Professional and job satisfaction are very subjective terms, and the perspectives and level of satisfaction would vary with each subset of participants. In the current study post graduate speech language pathologists working in private setups were considered as participants. A questionnaire tapping details about the various dimensions of a job were tapped through these questions. A total of 80 participants were enrolled for the study. The questions were compiled in Google form and was sent to the email ID of the respondents. The identity of the participants was kept confidential. Each question had four choices ranging from Extremely Satisfied to some extent, partially dissatisfied and the results showed a mixed trend. Some questions like relationship with co-workers, perspective on progress made by clients showed satisfaction while the questions on income satisfaction, satisfaction regarding flexibility, amount of paperwork involved showed negative trend with the responses reflecting dissatisfaction.
