To Assess the Level of Addiction to Internet Among Intermediate Students in Selected Colleges at Ashok Nagar Hyderabad, Telangana

Abstract

A study was conducted to assess the level of addiction to Internet among Intermediate students at Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad, Telangana. Methodology: The research approach used was non-experimental descriptive approach and for the present study non-probability convenient sampling method is used for choosing the sample. The samples were selected from Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Ashok Nagar Hyderabad, Telangana. The samples size consisted of 100 students of Sri Chaitanya Junior College who fulfilled criteria set by the investigator. A knowledge questionnaire designed to evaluate the extent of Internet addiction among the intermediate students in a structured manner. Result: Relevant that paired t-test was used to test the level of Internet addiction and normal Internet usage were from 20 to 49 points, Moderate Internet usage was from 50 to 79 points, and high Internet usage was from 80 to 100 points. Discussion: The findings of the study show that out of 100 samples, 15% of students have high Internet usage’s, 72% have moderate Internet usage, and 13% have normal Internet usage.
