Abstract

Antimicrobial peptides are a group of peptides that can cause a tremendous effect on the treatment of various diseases caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. Antimicrobial peptides are biological molecules that show their presence in mammals, plants, and microbial species. Antimicrobial peptides contain a unique sequence of amino acids that forms structural motifs, making them unique. The presence of this unique structural molecule makes them able to cause a strong effect on disease-causing organisms. This review focuses on the acne problem and its cure by antimicrobial peptides (AMPs). Acne Vulgaris is a skin disease observed in hair follicle pores that rupture cell membranes and show inflammation at the infected site. Bacterial colonization is observed in the Acne Vulgaris. In this article, we cover the antimicrobial peptide's role in killing the pathogens that cause Acne Vulgaris. The antimicrobial activity of AMPs is analyzed by Minimal Inhibitory Concentration.
