Abstract

ABSTRACTA rare triterpenoid queretoric acid from Swertia purpurascens Wall. (Gentianaceae) has been isolated along with β-sitosterol-D-glycoside, oleanolic acid. Except oleanolic acid these two compounds for the first time have been reported from this plant source and identified by means of chemical as well as spectroscopic methods.Keywords: Swertia, queretoric acid, β-sitosterol-D-glycoside, oleanolic acid, isolation
