Abstract

Geriatric patient are real challenges in dentistry. They require physical, psychological social support services to attain a proper treatment. Treating Nonagenarian patient having an age of 95year is really questionable, in a prosthodontist view high quality complete denture has been a key skill for the proper management of severely resorbed ridge. Complete edentulism can be described as an irreversible condition that decreases health-related quality of life with consequences on chewing efficiency, nutrition, and general health. Although, the prevalence of complete edentulism has been decreasing in developed countries, it still remains a significant dental issue within the older population. Years, or sometimes decades, complete denture (CD) wearing may have adverse effects on the alveolar ridge bone, as well as on the keratinized attached mucosa of a denture-bearing area. Denture wearing, sometimes joined with poor bone quality, osteoporosis, or unstable mandibular denture, may result in extreme alveolar ridge atrophy. The prosthetic instability leads to social and functional limitations and chronic physical trauma decreasing the patient’s quality of life. Severe resorption contributes to the instability and discomfort with the conventional acrylic resin denture. This clinical case emphasis complete denture fabrication in a different view to basic principles of impression making such as retention, stability and support
