A Medicinal Review of Emblica Officinalis WSR to Botanical Description

Abstract

Emblica Officinalis i.e., Amalaki is among the most important medicinal plant in the ayurvedic material medica. Amalki is explained as Dhatri or Anurse in Classical Ayurvedic Science which means that has the power to restore health like a mother caring for her child. Emblica officinalis has its qualities that have both medicinal and nutritional values. As, it is well known among the richest source of vitamin C, Demand of this fruit recently increased in local and global market during Covid crisis. Although its fruit is considered as minor fruit, but it is considered as an important fruit crop not only among the farmers, nursery man, ayurvedic physician even in scientist because of its increasing commercial significance and highly remunerative, which does not require much care. Various varities such as Emblica officinalis syn. Phyllanthus emblica or Indian goose berry is considered as minor arid zone fruit and it is used as a crop of commercial significance.
