Abstract

Jharkhand State has the potential to enhance the sites under religious tourism of national and international importance in addition to Baba Baidyanath Dham, Deoghar, Parasnath Hill, Giridih, and Maa Chhinnmastika Temple, Ramgarh. The increment in the number of tourists will provide employment to the local people and will establish Jharkhand on the tourist map of India. The present paper suggests the inclusion of two sites viz., Anjan Dham, Gumla district and Ramrekha Dham, Simdega district, Jharkhand under Ramayana Circuit. The first site is believed as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman and about the second site, it is believed that Lord Ram stayed here for some time during the exile period. These two sites if developed with basic facilities for pilgrims have the potential to become the tourist destination of Hindu devotees from different parts of India and the Globe.
