Abstract

The paper presents an advanced modelling and the hydraulic design of underground sewerage system using different software, which allows model to complete in a short time, with high efficiency and low costs. Navi Mumbai was taken as a model for the study. The space under consideration was picked-up based on the present facility and preference was given in the need of sanitary facility. Bentley SewerGEMS CONNECT Series is only fully-dynamic, multi-platform (Q-GIS, ARC GIS, CAD and StandAlone) sanitary and combined sewer modelling solution. With Bentley SewerGEMS CONNECT Series, we will analyse all sanitary and storm sewer system elements in one pack and have the option to perform the analysis with the SWMM algorithm or with implicit solution of the full Saint Venant equations, based on population growth, topography, development design, etc.  For the quality of sewer, NMMC preferred Central Public Health and Environmental Engineering Organization (CPHEEO) standards. For the successful execution as well as maintenance for 24hr, velocity variation with respect to time was continuously observed in a different area of Navi Mumbai to keep the system under downward run for whole day. The analysis and design were carried out using the SewerGEMS, SewerCAD and StormCAD, SWMM to find the diameter, type of pipe, slope to be maintained and depth of cutting of manhole as per the CPHEEO
