A Comprehensive Study of Sensor and Camera Fusion for Real-Time Parking Space Detection
Abstract: Due to the rapid growth in urban vehicle density, there have been major problems in the effective management of parking space, which has caused congestion, more traveling time, wastage of fuel, and environmental pollution. Conventional parking systems are very ineffective, as they are based on manual surveillance and cannot provide drivers with much real-time information. To overcome these challenges, the present paper explores the design, development, and operation of a …

A Review of Electrification Trends in Agricultural Tractors: New Developments, Difficulties, and Opportunities
Abstract: A farmer is constantly searching for methods to make farming easier and use less money or labor. The main factor contributing to the high cost of farming is the use of tractors. Tractors are more expensive due to their high fuel consumption. But technology has intervened and provided an answer. The electrical engineering world’s idea to switch from fuel to DC batteries has made electric tractors more accessible and reliable …

Comparative Study of the Mechanical and Durability Performance of Interlocking Concrete Pavement Blocks
Abstract: Interlocking concrete pavement blocks (ICPBs) have emerged as a durable, modular, and sustainable alternative to traditional pavement systems. Their performance depends heavily on the mechanical characteristics of the concrete mix, block geometry, compaction technique, and curing conditions. This review compiles and analyzes research findings related to the strength, durability, structural behavior, and long-term performance of ICPBs produced using traditional and modified concrete mixes. Key parameters evaluated include compressive strength, split …

Safe Routes to School: Best Practice and their Applicability to Urban Context
Abstract: Safe routes to school (SRTS) programs aim to encourage active transportation for children through enhanced safety, accessibility, and infrastructure within the areas surrounding schools. SRTS has become increasingly popular worldwide as a method of promoting public health, decreasing traffic, and promoting community cohesion. Yet bringing SRTS to urban environments comes with special challenges. Urban locations often have high traffic volumes, inadequate pedestrian facilities, socioeconomic inequities, and variable policy backing that …

Structural Assessment of Rigid Pavement Systems Under Heavy Loading Conditions
Abstract: This study presents an analysis of pavement and foundation layer design subjected to heavy vertical loads and upward soil pressure. A total load of 1716 tonnes transmitted from the superstructure is considered acting on the pavement system. Due to upward soil pressure, tensile stresses develop in the foundation layers, requiring adequate thickness of sand and aggregate layers to ensure structural stability. Based on the tensile strength of sand (2 N/mm²), …
