Design Optimization of C-Band 4-Channel WDM Optical Communication System using EDFA
Abstract: AbstractIn this work, the design and experimental characterization of high performance C band Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) booster which is pumped at 980 nm are presented. The system is simulated using Optisystem software to achieve gain flatness of EDF through optimized fiber length and pumping wavelength. The performance of the system is more efficient at the pumping wavelength of 980 nm than that of 1480 nm for a wide …

Effects of Cavity Length on the Performance Characteristics of InGaN based 420 nm MQW Blue Violet Laser
Abstract: AbstractThis research work has been carried out to improve the performance of a MQW blue violet laser to get an efficient and high power output. For this purpose the structure is designed using In0.156Ga0.844N/Al0.07Ga0.93. A high performance of the laser is obtained with the optimized values of injection current and differential gain. A maximum optical output power of 220.3 mW is obtained which enhances the designed laser for the application …

Efficient Data Transmission through Fiber Optic Communication System using SOA
Abstract: AbstractThis paper represents the characteristic of Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA) by varying frequency of Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) which is used as a source at the transmitter end and also injection current of SOA. It is observed that by varying the injection current up to 1 ampere, maximum output power of 0.74935 watt can be achieved at the frequency of VCSEL of 193.1 THz when the optical fiber …

Effects of EDFA Parameters on the Performance of A 4-Channel CWDM Optical Communication System
Abstract: AbstractIn this work, the performance of EDFA has been analyzed in Conventional band (C- band) based on its three types of application system i.e. pre-amplifier, post-amplifier and inline amplifier system. To check the performance for these three application system, a 4-channel Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) system has been designed using EDFA with optical CWDM fiber. By varying the length and numerical aperture (NA) of EDFA, different factors such as …

Review on Optimization of Wireless Optical Communication System
Abstract: AbstractWireless optical communication [WOC] is a recently emerging field, which gives solution for the drawbacks of radio and microwave communication issues. Optical fiber communication has already developed and accepted by its high performance such as high data capacity, speed etc. But WOC experiences atmospheric turbulence problems and distant dependent path loss. And scintillation and aerosol particles (rain, haze, fog and drizzle) bring this major challenge for the WOC system by …
