Design of Thermal Actuator for Correcting Misalignment in Optics of Space Telescopes
Abstract: There are two types of actuators such as: linear actuator and rotary actuator. Basically, linear actuators are used for the actuation such as lifting, switching, moving etc. But when we use the actuator for the correction of misalignment, it requires precision in output. Recently there are many types of actuators available in market such as brushless DC motors, stepper motors, shape memory alloys, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators, piezoactuator, thermal actuators …

The Response of Meteorological Parameters to the September 1 2016 Solar Eclipse as Observed in Anyigba, Nigeria
Abstract: The effect of the annular solar eclipse of September 1 2016 on meteorological parameters at Anyigba, Nigeria is examined. Parameters examined include the surface air temperature, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, soil temperature, solar radiation, and relative humidity. Meteorological data were obtained from a TRODAN station equipped with Campbell scientific equipment at the Anyigba location. Background diurnal profiles of the parameters were computed by averaging diurnal profiles for the 3 days …

Optimizing the Performance of Free Space Optical Channel at 1550 nm Wavelength
Abstract: Free space optical channel (FSO) provides better features than other available communication channels. Some of them are better wireless connectivity, easy establishment and high bandwidth. Despite of these advantages there are some parameters on which the system needs to be evaluated to analyse the performance. There are some external effects as well as system parameters that can affect the performance of free space optical system. Some of the effects that …

Novel Review on Fluid Mechanics related to Nanostructures for the Applications in Space Technology
Abstract: Fluid mechanics is an essential part of space technology. For example, the principles of fluid mechanics are involved in the satellite launch vehicles like Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) and Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) fabricated by the Indian space research organisation (ISRO). The miniaturisation of fluidic devices will be helpful to be integrated with the nanostructures for the advancement of space technology. Limited amount of research work has been …
