A Review on Flexible Conductive Thermal Links for Space Applications
Abstract: The exponential growth of space technology can be credited to compact and crucial remote sensing payloads. These high performance devices require high degree of thermal control without any structural disturbance. Although, these devices are usually cooled by active cryocoolers which produce vibrations and rejects heat to the surroundings. A flexible conductive thermal link is introduced between the heat sink and remote sensing devices to eliminate vibration transmission and to provide …

The Pioneers of Cosmic Ray Research in India
Abstract: Centenary symposium on Discovery of Cosmic Rays was organised in Denver, Colorado (USA) in June 2012. The proceedings of this conference published by American Institute of Physics (AIP) in 2013 are the most exhaustive survey of research carried out at global level. The glorious period of Cosmic Ray research began in India during 1940s simultaneously in JC Bose Institute, Calcutta under the supervision of DM Bose; Forman Christian College, Lahore …

A Study of Geomagnetic Storms and Associated Solar Flares
Abstract: Geomagnetic storms are temporal disturbances of the earth’s magnetosphere caused by a prolonged southward interplanetary magnetic field and usually coinciding with the arrival of coronal mass ejections (CME). Most geomagnetic storms occur under disturbed condition making it intrinsically uneasy to distinguish one geomagnetic storm from another especially in respect of solar origin. Thirty four (34) geomagnetic storms occurring between 1997 and 2012 have been studied whose storms signatures could be …
