Agricultural Residues as Pharmaceutical Excipient
Abstract: Excipients development has become a core area of research in pharmaceutical drug delivery. Agricultural residues and natural sources represent a potential source of inexpensive pharmaceutical excipients. Pharmaceutical excipients have vital roles in drug formulations and dosage forms and are used as thickeners, gelling, bulking and water retention agents, fillers, binders, disintegrants, lubricant and/or glidant, flavours and sweeteners. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), a very important directly compressible excipient widely used in pharmaceutical …

Development and Validation of Liquid Chromatography- Tandem Mass Spectrometric Method for Assay of Zidovudine in Human Urine
Abstract: A sensitive and selective liquid chromatographic-tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MSMS)method was developed to determine zidovudine (ZDV) in human urine. After solidphaseextraction with SPE cartridge, the urine sample was analyzed on a C18 column(Symmetry 3.5 μm; 75×4.6 mm i.d) interfaced with a triple quadrupole tandem massspectrometer. Positive electrospray ionization was employed as the ionization source. Themobile phase consisted of water-acetonitrile (20:80, v/v).The method was linear over aconcentration range of 10–1000 ng mL-1. …

Formulation Development and Evaluation of Sublingual Tablets of Enalapril Maleate Using Co-processed Superdisintegrants
Abstract: Enalapril Maleate is anti-hypertensive drug and its oral bioavailability is 40%. Sublingual tablets of Enalapril Maleate were prepared to improve its bioavailability, to avoid pre-systemic metabolism and hepatic first pass elimination. Tablets were prepared by wet granulation technique using two different superdisintegrants KYRON-T-314 and INDION-414 in the different ratio (1:1, 1:2 and 2:1) by co-processing and physical mixing. FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) and DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) spectroscopic studies …

“Alzheimer†An Ambiguous Ailment; A Comprehensive Review
Abstract: Alzheimer Disease (AD) is a gradually progressive dementia affecting cognition, behavior, and functional status. It was discovered a century back (1907) characterized by defects in language use, visual-spatial perception, ability to learn, solve problems, perform mathematical calculations, thinking abstractly, and making appropriate judgments, affecting more than 4.5 million people in United States. 100,000 people die of AD every year, nevertheless hundred years have been passed after the discovery of AD …
